This project was designed to facilitate efficient manufacturing and warehousing of electrical motors and equipment. The structural design uses an economical pre-engineered steel building. The exterior envelope combines metal roofing with metal siding for the upper portion of the exterior walls, and practical yet attractive split-faced concrete masonry for the lower walls. A continuous band of insulating translucent panels wraps the building, providing natural light for the interior and reducing energy costs. Other similar projects include a large office/warehouse facility for Zimmerman-McDonald Machinery Inc., in Bridgeton, Missouri, and the office and manufacturing plant expansion for H-J Enterprises in High Ridge, Missouri. As Principal Architect for a large design/build firm, Barrie Scott was the architect for a number of hazardous materials manufacturing facilities with clean rooms and other specialized spaces for MEMC Electronic Materials in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was also the architect for the M & W Packaging U.S., Inc., Poly Bag Production Facility, a seven building manufacturing campus in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the design of numerous other manufacturing and industrial projects throughout the United States.
